Scoring screen on 170 with the checkout T20, T20, Bull shown above the dartboard

Leg 1

Bully calls your checkout

The moment a finish is on, the route appears above the board, T20, T20, Bull on 170, worked out for the darts still in your hand. Miss the first dart and Bully recalculates for the next one.

Bully keypad with one-tap visit keys from 26 to 180

Leg 2

Tap the board or type the score

Score every dart on a real board layout, doubles and trebles included, or switch to the keypad and punch in the visit total like a pub chalker. One-tap keys cover 26, 41, 45, 60, 81, 85, 100, 140 and 180.

Game shot screen: 170 checked out in three darts, waiting for confirmation

Leg 3

Game shot, no maths

Every dart is checked against the rules: a bust is called and the visit scores nothing, double-out and double-in are enforced, and a winning double asks you to confirm. Mis-tapped? Undo any dart or the whole visit.

Match detail with each player's averages, 180s and checkout percentage

Leg 4

Averages, 180s and checkout %

Every match keeps each player's 3-dart average, first-nine average, checkout percentage, 100+, 140+ and 180 counts, highest checkout and best leg, with the detail leg by leg.

Checkout calculator on 121: best route T20, T11, D14 and two alternates

Leg 5

Every finish from 2 to 170

The checkout calculator works outside a game too. Enter any score, pick one, two or three darts in hand, and get the best route plus alternates that finish on different doubles.

Questions at the oche

What is Bully?

Bully is a darts scorekeeper for X01 games. You tap each dart on the board or type the visit total, and it subtracts the score, spots busts, moves to the next player and calls the best checkout for the darts you have left. Every match is saved with averages and stats, all on your phone.

Which darts games does Bully score?

Bully scores X01: 301, 501 and 701, with double-out (on by default) and optional double-in, for 1 to 8 players. Matches are first to 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7 legs, and Bully Pro adds sets. Other formats such as Cricket or Around the Clock are not included.

How does the checkout call work?

Whenever your score can be finished with the darts you have left, Bully shows the best route from the standard finishing chart, for example T20, T20, Bull on 170, and updates it after every dart. The checkout calculator gives the same answer for any score from 2 to 170, with alternates that finish on different doubles. Scores with no three-dart finish (159, 162, 163, 165, 166, 168 and 169) show as no checkout.

Can I type the visit total instead of every dart?

Yes. Switch the scoring screen to the keypad and enter the total for the visit, with one-tap keys for 26, 41, 45, 60, 81, 85, 100, 140 and 180. You can move between the board and the keypad during a match.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. There is no account and no sign-in, and scoring, checkout calls and your match history all work in airplane mode. Players, scores and history are stored on your phone, and you can clear the match history in Settings at any time. The Bully privacy policy on this site has the details.

Is Bully free? What does Bully Pro add?

Bully is free to download, and full games, live checkout calls, the checkout calculator and per-match stats are free. Every match is saved; the free version shows your latest 3 in history and is supported by ads. Bully Pro unlocks your whole match history, lifetime stats and trend charts, and sets play, and removes ads. It comes as a weekly subscription, with a free trial for eligible new subscribers, or a yearly one, and prices are shown in the app before you buy.

What stats does Bully keep?

For every player in every match: 3-dart average, first-nine average, checkout percentage, 100+, 140+ and 180 counts, highest checkout and best leg in darts. With Bully Pro you also get a lifetime leaderboard across all saved matches and a chart of each player's 3-dart average over time.

Which phones does Bully run on?

Bully is made for Android phones and iPhone. It is designed for one-handed use in portrait, with a scoring pad sized for your thumb.

Next leg's on you.

Step up, throw, and let Bully chalk the score.
